SIDNEY — Earl Gambill, 83, of 352 E. Court St., passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 10:20 a.m. at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community.
He was born on June 2, 1930, in Morgan, Ky., the son of the late Hatfield and Nora Alice (Cantrell) Gambill.
On Sept. 15, 1951, he married Mollie Cantrell, who survives along with six children, Dean (Karen) Gambill, of Arcanum, Hank Gambill, of Piqua, Larry Gambill, of Sidney, Jimmy (Paula) Gambill, of Piqua, Penny (Willie) Hammons, of Barbourville, Ky., and Tammy (Jesse) Shepherd, of Sidney; three siblings, Bearl Gambill, of Conover, Bonnie (Herb) Hawkins, and Lola (Joe) White, both of Piqua; 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Hobert, Dearl, Hubbard and Theral Gambill, and three sisters, Lulie Pelton, Ruby Gambill, and Ruth Dulin.
Mr. Gambill worked for Val Decker in Piqua and later retired in 1992 from Wagner Manufacturing in Sidney. He was a member of the Christiansburg Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
