DEGRAFF — Betty A. Vonderhuevel, 80, of DeGraff, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.
Betty was born on Nov. 1, 1933, in Champaign County, to the late Charlie and May Partington. She had resided in Logan and Shelby counties.
On Nov. 18, 1951, Betty married Marion A. Vonderhuevel, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 2010.
Surviving are her five children, Vicky Oliver, of DeGraff, Linda (John) Baker, of St. Augustine, Florida, Jenny Vonderhuevel, of DeGraff, Carrie (Bob) Clark, of St. Augustine, Florida, Marion Jr. (Sherry) Vonderhuevel, of Quincy; 15 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Cox, of Troy.
Betty is also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Davis and Walter Partington, and one sister, Norma Strayer.
Betty worked for 26 years before retiring from the Copeland Corp. in Sidney. She was a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church and a great Christian lady who was very easy-going and loved to be around people. She will be deeply missed by her family and her devoted friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at the Greenwood Union Cemetery, Route 235, DeGraff, with Dr. David Chivington and the Rev. Eileen Hix officiating. Burial will follow immediately after services.
Visitation hours for Betty will be Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
