BOTKINS — Paul Adrian Helmlinger, 91, of Botkins, passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.
He was born in Shelby County, Ohio to the late Adam Ernest and Anna Louise (Ambos) Helmlinger. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Esta E. (Alexander) Gies; his brother and sister-in-law, Kirby A. (Bonnie) Helmlinger; and a nephew, Paul F. "Fritz" Gies.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Keith (Barb) Helmlinger, Barbara Helmlinger, Beverly Helmlinger and Becky (Jim) Green; great-nieces and nephews, Paula (David) Applegate, Darcy (Gary) Schmerge, Andrea (Jim) Kirtley, Danielle Green, Megan Green and Katie Helmlinger; a stepgreat-niece Shelly Green; a great-great-niece ,Olivia Welly; a great-great-nephew, Zach Welly; a special cousin, Susie Maxwell; and numerous additional cousins. The family would also like to acknowledge the Wapak Manor staff for the exceptional care they provided to Paul.
Paul was a farmer and lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Reds fan, and enjoyed woodworking and playing Rummikub with the residents at the Wapak Manor over the past four years. He was especially grateful for his many friends and the cherished memories that were created as a result of those friendships.
Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St., Jackson Center and at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery in Montra.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center.
