Eugene Jackson Allensworth Obituary
1920 – 2013

Eugene Jackson Allensworth, age 92, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at his home in Newhall, CA. He was born in Carroll, NE on December 9, 1920.

Gene served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. After his career as a motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, in retirement he worked as an electrical contractor. He was a resident of Newhall, CA for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Doris May Allensworth of Newhall, CA; sons: Andrew (Chris) Allensworth of Santa Clarita, CA and Scott (Lisa) Allensworth of Santa Clarita, CA; granddaughter Jenna May Allensworth of Santa Barbara, CA; grandson Lucas Scott Allensworth of Santa Clarita, CA; step-granddaughters: Ashley, Jenna, Mikhaila, and Ariel (Chris' daughters). He was preceded in death by his brother Gayland Clark Allensworth and sister Labarbara June Allensworth.

Gene was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He served his country and community with pride and dedication. In retirement, Gene and Doris traveled and played golf together. An avid golfer, he was a long-standing member of the Vista Valencia Men's Club. He was also a member of the Masons.

Family and friends were his true joys. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. Memorial gifts may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation http://www.parkinson.org/how-to-help.aspx
