Katie Snyder Evans of Santa Clarita, CA passed away late Friday, October 6, 2017 in a tragic automobile accident just a mile from her home as she was returning from visiting her premature twin girls in the UCLA Medical Center.

Katie was born in Bountiful, UT on July 15, 1980 to Ken and Claudia Snyder. She grew up in Minnesota and Illinois and received a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She married Jacob Lee Evans on June 7, 2002 in the LDS Washington D.C. Temple.

Katie leaves behind her husband, Jacob Evans, her children Spencer (12), Travis (11), Nathaniel (9), Gideon (2), and her 8-week-old preemie twin girls, Hannah and Sarah. She is also survived by her parents, and 4 siblings.

Katie was active in her local LDS church congregation in Santa Clarita. She was passionate about her children and was an advocate for various issues and causes. She loved reading and writing and was actively involved in various online communities. She also loved the adventure of traveling to see interesting places such as national parks, museums, historical sites, great cities, and whatever dinosaur fossils Spencer wanted to see. During her short life, Katie lived in Utah, Japan, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, Indiana, and California.
