LEROY PYLES Obituary

PYLES, LEROY ANDREW "ROY" 1926 to 2010 Roy, 84, of Palm Desert, California passed away on December 1, 2010. He was born and raised in Washington, D.C.. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. After over 21 years of federal service in positions with the IRS, the U.S. Navy Bureau of Aeronautics, and the Bureau of Naval Weapons, he retired in 1976 at which time he became a private consultant until 1992. Among his cherished memories were weekends spent with family and friends at the Colorado River as well as his numerous excursions, local and abroad. Roy is survived by his children, Kenneth, Ronald, and Virginia Hoffman; granddaughters Lauren and Nicole Hoffman; brother LaVern Pyles, Jr.; and cherished companion Marjorie McConaghay. He is predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Beverly. Roy will be laid to rest in Herndon, Virginia. The family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
