What I treasure and love: you, and all that we shared ... our great love of horses and all things equestrian, of the mountains, and of cinema. My fondest memories: seeing Elizabeth Taylor together; attending the Grand Prix at Del Mar; cheek-to-cheek dancing with you while sailing in the harbor; people watching at Fashion Valley; writing ads together for all those online sites and newspapers; laughing a lot about almost everything; your confiding in me about fears, doubts, loves and losses; your listening to me about fears, doubts, loves and losses. Namaste, my friend. Til we meet again. Fly free.
Allen on left at UCLA Journalism Day, Nov. 1967
John Sweeney
April 5, 2011
Allen was a classmate and fellow editor of our high school newspaper at University High School. In November of 1967 we drove to UCLA for Journalism Day. We had this photo taken of us "lighting up", ran it in the paper with the story, and were promptly suspended for a day. Allen is on the left.
