ANGELA GONONG GALLARDO

GALLARDO, ANGELA GONONG Angela Gonong Gallardo, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in Poway, California. She was born on May 31, 1922, in the Philippines and was a longtime resident of San Diego. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tiburcio Gallardo, who passed away in 1985. Lovingly referred to as "Elang" by her family and friends, she was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing the lotto, visiting new places and trying new restaurants. She was an active member of the Castillejos Civic Club for many years. Her affection and zest for life was strong and her curiosity and candidness endeared her to everyone around her. Angela is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Gallardo Irwin and Jeannette Gallardo Cone, son-in-law Jeffrey Irwin and grandchildren Christopher Irwin, Lauren Irwin, Alyssa Cone and Alexandra Cone. Viewing on Thursday, September 23, 2010, 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 24, 2010 from 5 to 9 p.m. with Vigil Service/Rosary at 7 p.m., at Glen Abbey (Little Chapel of the Roses), 3838 Bonita Road in Bonita. Services will be held at the Chapel of the Roses on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
