While I never had the honor to meet Mr. Quintana, I have had the pleasure of knowing his daughter Maria. Maria and I have worked together for our wonderfuly Navy for over 20 years. I can tell you as I read all of the wonderful tributes to her father one thought comes to mind. His spirit, joy and guidance is evident in Maria and her family. Please know my family's thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

You always encouraged me to do well in school and to always improve my self. I am so glad that I got to spend some time with you. I admired you greatly and was amazed at the incredible amount of energy and strength that you had. I know that a lot of people felt the same away about you but you were always a true role model for me. I will miss seeing you and learning from you.

I know Tio Carlos is enjoying eternity to be in the presence of our Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus, his parents, brothers and sister who have gone before him and all the saints. Until we are all together, united in that AWESOME presence, you will be greatly missed Tio Carlos. Our thoughts and stories of you will live on. May our Heavenly Father continue to pour an abundance of Blessings and strength to your family. AMEN!!! P.S. My mom, Esther, the youngest of the kids said that Grandma is pregnant with Tio Carlos in this photo.

While Commander Quintana served long and well before I became involved with Chapter 0049 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, his loss is felt among the many chapter members in deeds and memories. Commander Quintana was a strong leader and advocate for veterans and Purple Heart chapter members. His likes as a role-model and luminary will be missed in Chapter 0049.
