CVEDA MASON Obituary

MASON, CVEDA JEAN Nov. 26, 1920 to Nov. 4, 2010 Jean was born in Indiana to parents Marvin and Gertrude Hawkins. Being raised on a farm, her early education was completed at an eight grade country school. The teacher was her mother. In high school, she was very active: class president, vice president, secretary, and home coming queen. Due to a sparkling personality, in her senior year she was voted most popular person in the class. While in high school, she met her future husband, Paul Mason. They were married for thirty-two wonderful years until his death in 1975. She never remarried because Paul was the love of her life. Jean was a devoted Christian and very active in her church until her health failed. She also served as a paradigm for wife, mother and grandmother. Her finest quality was not disparaging anyone. She always showed love and respect to everyone that she encountered. Her family and friends will miss her; however, her spirit will always live in our hearts. Jean is survived by her son, Richard, Mason; granddaughter, Tanya Oesterreich and great grandson John Oesterreich. Services will be held at the following location: El Camino Memorial, 607 National City Blvd., National City, CA 91950. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the charity of your choice.

Jean was one of the kindest persons I have ever met. We always looked forward to our family visits with Jean, Paul, Grandma and George. I'll never forget her fried chicken, having juicy fruit candy waiting for us, letting me pick out the red ones, cold bottles of Coke when we went to Belmont Shore, and her always remembering my birthday with a card and piece of Juicy Fruit gum inside. You will always be remembered Jean! See you again sometime! Steve Robertson
