FLORENCE ANDERSON Obituary

ANDERSON, FLORENCE M Feb. 28, 1931 to Oct. 20, 2010 Florence was born in Phoenix, AZ, the youngest of four children. She married William E. Smith in 1949. Together they had three children. When the children were young, Flo was a stay at home mom, volunteering as a room mother and Girl Scout leader. In 1964, Flo became a single mother. She worked hard to raise her children to be responsible adults and to help others. When her children were teens, she went back to school to earn her degree in Psychology. She met and married her 2nd husband, John Barnwell. They were married for 35 years until he passed away in 1995. We will always be grateful to John for his gentle nurturing and loving my mom the way she deserved. In 1999, she married Robert Anderson. Bob was welcomed into our family and we had a lot of fun together at family gatherings. Bob died just a few days before Flo. Now they will be in heaven together. Flo is survived by her children and their spouses; Janel and Mac, Linda & Bryan, Larry and Teresa and her grandchildren; Sara, Jeffrey, Kyle and Kevin. Mom, we thank you for being such a wonderful and caring mother, wife and friend. It was an honor to have known you and you will be greatly missed. An ALOHA celebration of her life will be held at Pathway Christian Fellowship, Saturday, Nov. 6th at 1:00 p.m.

To all of Flo's family-we are so sorry we were unable to attend Flo's service. She and Bob were our neighbors for over 9 years and we loved them both dearly. They were both full of life, very loving and giving people. Family meant everything to both of them. Please know that we miss Flo and she will always be in our hearts. Mark & Tania Monahan

Dear Grammy, You were, and always will be so loved, by so many. You have changed my life and inspired me in so many ways. I will carry you in my heart and I know you will be there with me when I someday get married and have my own children. It was an honor to be your granddaughter. And to my mother, you did a beautiful job honoring Grammy through this life process and respecting her wishes and providing her dignity and grace.

Thank you for being my mom. I will miss you dearly. I wish to express my deepest gratitude towards those who loved Mom most. Doc Anderson who couldn't have been a better husband. They loved each other very much and are now in heaven together. Mom's church family who she loved and found such comfort. Most of all my siblings, Janel and Larry, who were such loving and fierce advocates for my mother. Mom may you rest in peace. I love you. Your daughter, Linda
