As a 15yr-old in the folk music scene in San Francisco in 1960, I was introduced to Fred Gerlach's music (in the form of a 5" tape) by my idol, Kit Snow, who wanted me to be aware of HIS idol... It's hard to believe that 50 yrs later, Fred was still around - and I totally missed it.

My heartfelt condolences to all is family and friends. I hope that the knowledge of yet another moved by his music helps at this time...

Fred was a friend. I last saw him not so long ago at Kaiser. I am sorry to see him go; but then, I am not far behind him.
