My brothers and I had the honor of having Fred as our neighbor for 5 years in San Diego. I remember the countless gardening advice and after a while his passion for horticulture grew on us too. He was the kind of neighbor you could visit and ask for a cup of sugar, which I asked for on several occasions. He was always kind and more than willing to give advice on a problem.

Fred's stories from his time has always been intriguing to listen for Pat and I. It was like having a third grandfather next door to us, who was always caring. Your kindness has always touched us.

Thank you Fred for enriching our lives by always sharing ours, you will be remembered.

Freddy Brown, said I was the only one who was allowed to call him that when I saw him two days after his surgery. He was so full of life, even on meds and in pain, he was counseling me. He shared his life with me for several hours that night, like never before, and was able to pray with him and know he is in heaven! Freddy was one of the first guys I met at Bob Baker and have been friends ever since the early 90's. We kept in touch and he has taught me a lot wisdom, and am grateful for his life's lessons. To this day I dont remember him ever saying an unkind word, and know he has been through much. He is in a better place, yet know his thoughts were for his wife, Katheryn. He will be missed but not forgotten. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may he shine his face upon you and give you peace!

It was always a joy to talk with Fred and hear about the early days of the San Diego Junior Chamber (Jaycees) and the projects, especially the project that started the San Diego Aerospace Museum (now Air & Space Museum). His dedication to Jaycees and the community was appreciated. My condolences to the family.
