FRISBIE KILLMAN Obituary

KILLMAN, FRISBIE K. Sept. 10, 1928 to Aug. 18, 2010 Frisbie Killman, 81, a San Diego native, private pilot, cornetist and principal of FRISBIE KILLMAN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS, a firm of 30 years, passed away of natural causes on August 18, 2010. Frisbie was born to Buster B. and Lillian Killman in La Mesa CA, where he attended grade school and Grossmont High. He became a private pilot and a Life Scout in his youth. He started to learn music by way of trumpet when he was age nine. He graduated with a B.A. in Engineering Sciences from San Diego State University. He went on to work in several Architectural and Engineering firms until establishing his own firm in La Jolla, CA. where he and his family resided for many years. There, Frisbie was a member of the Rotary Club of La Jolla and La Jolla Presbyterian Brass Choir. In 1997, Mr. Killman and his wife Kathleen moved to Borrego Springs, CA after taking weekend trips for many years. Fris became a member and eventually president of Rotary Club of Borrego Springs. He played the cornet for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Easter Sunrise services. He loved the peaceful serenity of the desert life and spent many hours on his patio viewing Indian Head and surrounding mountains. He often would say that, "you will not know when you die and go to heaven if you have lived here in Borrego." Memorial services will be at St. Barnabas in late November. In addition to Kathleen his wife, Frisbie is survived by Michele his daughter and husband Joe Russo of Kingman AZ, daughter Denise Killman of San Diego and his son Craig and his wife Michele Killman of San Diego, six grandchildren and one great-grandhild.

Michele, Denise & Craig,

I am so sorry for this unexpected loss of your father. And to my beloved sister Kathy, I know how much you loved Frisbie, if not by what you did say but what you didn't have to say.I never once heard you say one unkind thing about Frisbie, and that alone speaks volumes for the love you two shared all these years. My heart just breaks for you Kath, and I hope you know how much Jacky and I love you and are praying for you. I can't imagine what you are going thru. Just know we are all there for you - always.

Love,

your little sister

The opportunity to experience the delightfulness of Frisbee were far too few. His name couldn't have been more appropriate for such a unique spirit. Always enjoyed his great sense of humor and zest for life. He will be missed. Our heartfelt sympathy to Kathleen and Family.
