IGNACIO ORNELAS Obituary

ORNELAS, IGNACIO C. April 20, 1921 to October 7, 2010 Ignacio was born in Mexico City, Mexico DF. He was a Mason for over 50 years. He attended the University of Mexico City and studied to be an engineer. During World War II, he came to the U.S. to work on the Southern Pacific Railroad. He married Lily Romero (deceased). Ignacio owned a cabinet shop for 30+ years. He opened branches of two Mexican associations in San Diego: Trabajadores Unidos and Zaragoza. Ignacio is survived by his children Lily Schouten, Carmen Courchaine, Susan Mitchell, Gracie Leone, Ignacio (Nacho) and Mary Granado. He had twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. You will be greatly missed. We love you Dad. Services will be held on Friday, October 15th, at 1:00 p.m. at Glen Abbey Mortuary, Chapel of Roses.

I loved my Grandpa very much, I miss him so much also, christmas will be hard as well as Thanksgiving but I know he will always be with me. I love you Grandpa Ill see you in heaven soon when its my time to go....

Grandpa Ornelas was a grandfather to my children, not by blood but by his loving presence in their lives. Lily took take care of my children for many years but Grandpa also loved them. We will miss you, Grandpa!
