JANET ZIMMER Obituary

ZIMMER, JANET A. (FINNEGAN) Janet A. (Finnegan) Zimmer was born September 16, 1927 and died October 12, 2010. Born in San Diego, Janet attended Our Lady of Peace and worked for the phone company until her marriage to Richard Zimmer in 1949. Mom lived in the College area for over 60 years, until the Lewy Bodies disease made it impossible to live at home. Mom loved the beach, plays at the Old Globe, and volunteering at UCSD Hospital. Her Irish roots enabled her to enjoy a good story and she was always quick to find the humor in every situation. Mom is survived, loved and missed by her Children Judy (Al) Mozingo, Barbara Beaudin, Marsha (Jim) Van Norman, and Dan (Marianne) Zimmer, thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sister Marguerite. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Richard, brother Tom Finnegan and sister Rita McDaniel. Services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Mission San Diego de Alcala. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Mission San Diego de Alcala Restoration Fund.

Judy, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I still have fond memories of all of your family and all the Finnegan family. May she find peace and happiness in the hands of God and her dear Richard.
Sincerely,
Pat (Flores) Thom
