LAWRENCE CARHART Obituary

CARHART, LAWRENCE "LARRY" K. Lawrence "Larry" K. Carhart, 63, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Hazlet. He was born in Red Bank and resided in El Cajon, CA for 35 years before returning to New Jersey this past May. He graduated from Keyport High School in 1965 and was a member of the Magic Club. He also graduated from Stuart College in Asbury Park in 1967 with an Associates Degree in Business. He was employed at Sears working from 1967 to 1974. He then, for a short time worked with Allstate followed by managing The Landing in El Cajon for about 25 years. Larry was a member of the Elks Club in California. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Keyport. He enjoyed swimming, boating, hunting, fishing, golf and gourmet cooking. He valued both his long time friends and newer friends that he met on the cruises that he loved to take. He is predeceased by his parents; Kelsey and C. Lorraine (Kaufer) Carhart. His maternal grandparents Fred and Annetta (Fitzgerald) Kaufer and his paternal grandparents Bishop and Mary (Hickey) Carhart. Surviving is his sister; Carol A. Carhart of Keyport. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010, 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Keyport, 45 Main Street, Keyport, NJ. Interment to follow at Green Grove Cemetery in Keyport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Keyport. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bedle Funeral Home, 61 Broad Street, Keyport, NJ. Carol I remember Larry when I was a little kid.When he had his motorcycle he came to my house and he let me sit on it.My leg hit the muffler and I burned my leg,I still have the scar.That is over 45 years ago.When I would hang out with Andrew I would see Larry but didn'tknow him that well.sorry for your loss

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. We knew he was sick for a while. I'm sure he's up in heaven with his good friend Jim Kolpacoff. Larry was nice enough to let us have a memorial for his friend Jim last year. RIP Larry.
