MARILYN THOMPSON Obituary

THOMPSON, MARILYN JOAN Dec. 5, 1939 to Jan. 7, 2011 Marilyn Joan Thompson lost her battle with cancer on January 7th with family by her side. Marilyn spent her childhood on the family farm in Lamont, Washington. She earned her nursing degree in Spokane where she fell in love with her husband of 47 years, Robert Webster Thompson. They made their home in Poway, California. Marilyn was a devoted mother to her three adoring children, James, Michael and Laura Thompson. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Marilyn also enjoyed working for Dr. David A. Edwards at North County Ophthalmology for over 25 years where she made many friends. Marilyn is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, Sherrill Nelson, and two brothers, Jim and Wayne Kelly. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Spokane Memorial Garden in Washington. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at El Camino Memorial in Encinitas from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society in honor of Marilyn J. Thompson.

I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF MARILYN'S PASSING.ALTHOUGH I HAD LOST A CLOSE CONTACT WITH HER FOR MANY YEARS,I STILL REMEMBER HER WARM SMILE AND GENTLENESS DURING OUR NURSING STUDENT YEARS@SHSN IN SPOKANE,WA.
