MARTHA ROE Obituary

ROE, MARTHA Our loving wife, mother, Nana, great-grandmother and dear friend went to be with our heavenly father on October 8, 2010, surrounded by her family, in the arms of her son.
Preceded in death by her father and mother, Anthony and Mary Jane Doherty, and brother, James Doherty. Survived by her husband of 56 years, Tony Roe, seven children: Jim Roe, Paula, (Ian) Farquharson, Marybeth, (Tom) Engle, Marcella Roe, Pamela Ogorman, Daneen, (Kyle) Kodra, Michele, (Mark) Crabtree, sister Mary E. Doherty and brother, Paul Doherty, along with 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Martha's biggest desire in life was to have a large family, which she did accomplish. She devoted her life to family and God. She had a wonderful sense of humor that was contagious if you were in the same room with her. Martha's legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
"Mom, you took a piece of each of our hearts when you left this earth. Life will never be the same without you."
Please come celebrate a memorial service Tuesday, October 12th, at 3:00 p.m. at San Diego Mission De Alcala, 10818 San Diego Mission Road. A gathering will be held with the family at the church after the memorial immediately following. Refreshments will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the name of Martha Roe.

I can't begin to tell you how much your mom, my "Aunt Martha" has meant to me over the years. I will treasure the wonderful memories I have, her encouraging words, her stories about my mom. By now she's met up with my mom and they are laughing together, and smiling down on us!
I love you Aunt Martha, and thank God that I was blessed with such a wonderful God Mother !

Dear Roe Family,
It has been years since I lived next door to your family, but I keep a special place in my heart for all of you. I am sad to hear of Martha's struggle with cancer. She is in a pain free place now. May God bless her and each one of you.

To Tony, Jim, Paula, Pam, Marcella, Mary Beth, Shelley, and Dini,
When I was a child and went to visit my aunt, I remember Martha always giving me Oreo cookies. They became known as "Martha Cookies." She was a special, loving, person. My parents, her Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill loved Martha and she adored them. I am sure that she was a wonderful mother and friend to all. My sister Jean called Martha and Mary sisters because she didn't have anyone else to share her feelings in good times and bad. Martha was always there for her and a phone call away when she needed a friend. Martha was a lover of life and family, a confidante and a person you could always rely on. Time passes, and so, too, are regrets that we did not cherish the opportunities we could have had with her.
With deepest sympathy -
Love,
Bill, Priscilla, Meghan and Alex Flynn

On behalf of the Belinsky Family, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. When she worked for us in the days of Arnolds, she was very kind, helpful, and nurturing. It was very easy for us to see how proud she was of all of her children. We feel fortunate to have known her and agree that her legacy will be carried out by her children!

Our sincerest condolences to you Tony, and the rest of the family
