NOLA CHAFFIN Obituary

CHAFFIN NOLA MAE May 6, 1921 to October 30, 2010 Nola Mae (Hypse) Chaffin was born in 1921 in Spencer, Nebraska. She was the second of four daughters born to Tena and Edgar Hypse. Nola was a veteran of World War II, where she served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps. After the war she moved to Los Angeles, where she met her future husband and the love of her life, Ray Chaffin, at a church dance. They were married after a whirlwind romance, and lived happily together for sixty years. Nola is survived by her three children, Carol Limbach, Robert Chaffin and Sally Montiano, and seven grandchildren, Joshua Pennington, Elizabeth and Katherine Limbach, Natalie and Cade Chaffin, and Lucia and Olivia Montiano. Nola was a kind, loving and attentive wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a loyal friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Nola passed away on October 30, at Silver Oak in Vista. She was lovingly attended by her family, caregivers and Hospice, and died peacefully and with great dignity. She is at peace in the Lord, who was her strength. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on December 16th at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
