Paul Marshall Obituary

Marshall, Paul C.
May 25, 1926 to Sept. 18, 2010

Paul Charles Marshall, Jr., "Junior," to his family, was born in Lutcher, Louisiana, to Paul and Estella Marshall, now deceased.
He served this country in the Pacific Theater in World War II and the Korean Conflict, and at Naval Station Rota, Spain, Castle AFB and Vandenberg AFB before retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He later retired from U.S. Civil Service at the Point Loma Fuel Department on the Naval Submarine Base San Diego, preceded by service at Naval Base Subic Bay, Philippines. His dedication to his country inspired 3 of his children to have military careers. He attended St. Catherine Labouré Catholic Church. He was a private pilot for more than 50 years and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Anyone acquainted with Paul knows that he loved to laugh and dance, especially at the 94th Aero Squadron and Pal Joey's. His mantra was, "Dance while you can." At the young age of 84 years, he crossed over into the Kingdom of Heaven. We are at peace knowing that as he passed through the pearly gates, he was dancing and smiling at Saint Peter. He is survived by 6 children (and their spouses), Yolanda Tisdale (Raphael), Paul Marshall, III (Rita), Wanda Winkler (Wesley), Diane Marshall (John Hammerstrom), Andre Marshall (Susan) and Paula Marshall; five grandchildren and two great-grandchild-ren; siblings Verdean Clements, Audrey Davis, Cleo Eugene, Lawrence Marshall and Floyd Marshall; and quite possibly hundreds of friends.
His funeral services will be held in Paulina, Louisiana, on September 25th, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A memorial celebration will be held in San Diego on October 9th.
