RACHAEL MILLER Obituary

MILLER, RACHAEL ANNE NEIDHART Rachael Anne Neidhart Miller passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Rachael was born on February 21, 1973. Born and raised in San Diego, she graduated from El Capitan High School in 1991, received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from San Bernardino State University and later, her Teaching Credential. She was a talented and creative teacher who loved working with children. Rachael loved spending time with her family and friends, walking in the sun, eating good food, and cheering on the Padres. Most of all, she loved taking her daughter on adventures and watching her grow from new experiences. She is survived by many who loved her deeply. Her four-year-old daughter, Rosemary Nikol Miller, was a ray of sunshine in her life. She is the reason Rachael fought this disease with such courage and strength. Rachael is a source of inspiration to all who watched her fight to live. She found peace at the end of her life, living in the mountains with her mom, step-dad, and daughter. We will always remember her beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Rachael's aunt, Lauri McNally who is registered to participate in the 2010 Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure in San Diego. A gathering will take place on Sunday, May 16th, from 12-3 p.m. at Nan Couts Cottage, 5054 Memorial Drive, La Mesa.

My dearest Rachael-words cannot even begin to explain what you meant to me and my family. I loved you from the moment I met you and I will forever. You had the courage and strenghth that I so admired in you and I will continue to carry with me until we are together again. I miss you more than words can say. I loved being your friend, and feel so blessed that you touched my life, even if it was such for such a short time. To your amazing mom and daughter, I love you both so much, and think of you all the time. I miss my time with Rosey, and look forward to spending time with her again. I have you in my heart and and my strength forever.

It's taken me weeks to find the right words, to try to express the pain and joy that I feel about your passing. The pain being we wasted 30 years between when we last spoke and when we spoke when you visited the dog groomer in Julian with your sweet Mom and daughter. The joy is that you're no longer in pain, thank God, and the joy that I have grown from knowing you as a little 5 year old girl and now as you rejoice in heaven with your Grandma and Grandpa Bockelman. Thank you for your contribution to my life and that of Sherri and Mark when we were neighbors on Tamres Drive. I'll see you again. All my love to your Mom and Rosie.

Shocked and saddened to see that you have passed. I remember your great inspiration to me when we were younger and remember thinking how mature and sure of yourself you were at such a young age. I looked up to you then and now hold you in my prayers.
Truly saddened and my heart breaks for your family.
May God bless you and those who are left behind.

Rachael, you are one of the few people who seem to figure out life before the rest of us. I remember you from high school as many others have said, as a kind, fun, and unique person. Not many people know what's important in life when they are so young. You will be forever missed.

Blessings to Rachael on her eternal journey of love and peace. I am sure her light will forever shine, especially shinning down upon her beloved daughter, Rosemary Nikol. Deep, deep regards to her family who remain here and who love and hold her in their hearts. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die" ~ this from a gravestone Mama Iris led me to after her passing. Mama Iris is there with Rachel and likely showing her about or having her by for tea. Special loving regards and support to her Mother, Annie. Love and heartfelt sympathy in such a tender time ~ Blessings, Judith

Rachael,

Thank you for inspiring all those around you to be themselves, and to be true. Our world is a darker place without you. I will always remember you.

Rachael- your support and encouragement meant so much to me. I will never forget the affirmations and mannerisms that you suggested that I adopt in dealing with "people issues." You had such a unique way of encouraging people to be themselves. I owe a lot of my confidence to you. Thank you for always assuring me that it is ok to be unique and that you don't have to conform to other peoples expectations to make your mark.

Rosemary, your mother was truly special and always had a kind word to offer and a hug to share. I was so blessed to have known her.

I am saddened to hear of Rachael's passing. She was one of the most unique, true friends that I could have ever had. We knew each other growing up in Lakeside and often walked home from school together. She will be missed terribly. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, espeically little Rosemary.

Shame on me I didn't even know you were sick and now you're gone. Our kids are nearly the same age. You're so young. I'm sure you'll be watching over Rosemary, which I guess is kinda cool for her to have a solid connection like you in the sky. I think a lot of us will look after her here on earth too. Rest well...Chuck
