RICHARD CORNELIUS Obituary

CORNELIUS, RICHARD August 12, 1932 to Nov. 6, 2010 Richard was born in 1932 in Amarillo, Texas. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served three years. In the '50s, he moved to the San Diego area where he lived and worked for over 50 years. He was a well known member of the El Cajon community for the past 30 years. He was predeceased by two adult sons, Richard leaves many friends to lament his passing, including his "self-adopted daughter", Patsy Balfe of El Cajon. Richard will be missed by all who knew and cared for him. A celebration of life for Richard will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the El Cajon Grand, 351 W. Main Street, El Cajon.

I first met the 'ole man' @ the Rocks in El Cajon, 1994. He was walking through the back patio, The 'ole man' had just came from somewhere important as he was dressed to reflect the occasion. The 'ole man' had a distinctive swagger when he walked. It immediately reminded me of John Wayne. So the 'ole man' to me was non other than the 'DUKE' Everyone back then actually called or address Rich as 'ole man' So... Duke, Richard, Richie, Rich, Mr Cornelius RIP
