ROY BLACK Obituary

BLACK, ROY KEITH Roy Keith Black passed away at home, surrounded by his loved ones on Monday evening, December 28, 2009. Roy was born in 1927 and educated in England and Ireland, where he met his wife of nearly sixty years, Maurene. He and Maurene traveled extensively, both for business and pleasure, settling permanently in La Costa, California, in 1979. In retirement, Roy served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mingei International Museum and was California Western School of Law's Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1991 to 1994, and continued to serve as Chairman Emeritus. In 1995, he was awarded an Honorary Juris Doctorate. He leaves his wife, his two children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as a legacy of honesty and generosity. Services were held Wednesday morning, December 30th, at El Camino Memorial Park. Honoring Roy's example, a donation to the angels of San Diego Hospice would be the family's request.

Roy was truly one of the most honorable men I have ever met. The world has lost a true gentleman, and I am grateful for the lessons I learned from him, through his words and example.
