To the Kakacek family my deepest condolences at this time in your lives. I worked with Steve from 1974 at SDSU, he was a good friend and helped everyone who needed it. Family was first no matter what. Steve when we meet again, I hope we pick up where we left off as friends. You will always be in my thoughts.

My deepest condolences to the Kakacek family. Steve was a wonderful, caring person, a great man who loved his family and friends more than anything. I remember the pride he expressed whenever he would talk about his family and especially his grandchildren; they were without a doubt his greatest joy! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

I have found memories of serving with Steve in Scouting at both the Cub Scout and Boy Scout levels. He was also a great friend and neighbor. He will be missed in this life, but we will all see him again. Jack Wurtz

We came to know Jackie through our daughter Amy and Junior Achievement. Jackie came to Iowa to visit in the winter once and between the snow ball fights and sledding, we came to know her love and respect for her parents. We kept up with any news of her dad with Amy and always asked Amy to tell Jackie we are thinking of them. We are deeply saddened for their loss and will keep them in our prayers.
