I can't beleive how long it's been. Two years...are you kidding me?! Walt loved his kids. Very proud of their accomplishments. He put some good people into this world. He had a pretty positive impact on a lot of people. I wish he could see where all of his help has brought me and my family. He was really sharp. The world needs more of that.

Laura, John, Jim, Pete & Sally -
Your Dad gave me my first "real" accounting job when i was fresh out of college - I'm 43 now and we hadn't seen each other in over 10 years but, he was such a great mentor and teacher that much of his advice and teachings and many great memories have stayed with me to this day.
I just wanted to tell you guys that you kids are all he ever talked about; from the day I started working for him until the last time I spoke to him a year or so ago. He loved you all so much and was so very proud of all of you!

So missed, Duane and I talk about you every day. How that we only knew you a short time and you blessed us with your wisdom, knowledge, and confidence, you made a big mark on our lives and gave us what we needed to move on in our business. I miss talking to you and you made me laugh everytime I talked to you, and we sang the Mickey Mouse song everytime I answered the phone. There was so much in such a short time. We miss you deeply! There will never be another man like Walt Tashjian in our lives. Thank you so much for the time we had with you....we will never forget you. Love, Duane and Sherri Bailey

Nearly a month has passed and I continue to miss your presence in the office. Your energy always made Fridays go by that much faster. I thank you again for all the smiles and laughter that magically appeared when you were around.

I was both saddened and shocked to hear of your loss. I worked for him when he was President/CEO of Texas General Steel in Lubbock, Tx. I admired him greatly - he was a caring and kind employer. My deepest sympathy to all his family.

My sincerest sympathies to you all at the loss of your Father. How unfortunate and untimely.
The Tashjians and the Millers emmigrated together to Sunnymead, California about 1945. I knew Sonny as the rambunctious, inquisitive and very spoiled son of Dot and Walter, doting parents to their exceptional child. We always had holiday family celebrations at the Tashjians, with Dot making grape leaves to everyone's delight.
As adults, our paths have not crossed, but I remember fondly the Sonny of the 40's and 50's and I am so sorry for your loss.

Walt's unstopable sense of humor an optimism will always be with me. He ended every phone call telling me how blessed he was to be needed, busy working and how he enjoyed his kids. He was sooooo proud of his kids and the way they were making their way through life. He felt so blessed to be a part of that. His comforting words when my mom died in July made such an impact. His business expertise saved me and my family as we were stumbling through very difficult times. He had become one of my most cherished friends. As well as a close friend of my family. Kelly and I will really miss him. Such a shock. Such a loss. We feel blessed to have known him. -George Krizanovic

An old, almost forgotten memory comes to mind. June 1963 graduation from 9th grade at UHJH. "Sonny", after he is handed his diploma on stage, walks over to Mrs. Beth Speer, our elderly Latin and Homeroom teacher, (really more of a loving grandmother to all of us than a teacher) and proceeds to give her a huge hug right on stage. A class act then and for all time. God Bless, Sincerely Robert Righter (p.s. He played a pretty decent trumpet, for Mr. Mummert's Band too!)

Laura, John, Jim, Pete and Sally,
I met your father about 7 months ago and saw him on an almost daily basis at work during that time. Even though I only knew him a short time, it was long enough for me to learn what a caring and generous man he was. He was so proud of you and talked about your accomplishments often. Having since met all of you, I now understand why he was so full of pride. You are all in my thoughts during this difficult time.
I will always cherish the laughs and life lessons he shared with me.

Walter and I served on the McHenry County Housing Commission together, I only knew him for a short time, but found him to be very focused and a great inspiration for our commission. I was shocked to hear of his passing and want to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Maggie, Laura, John, Jim, Pete and Sally...
...it's so hard to know the right thing to say about such a sudden and tragic loss for all of you.
My heart goes out to you; and my prayers are with you for strength, comfort, peace and love.
I wish I could be there with you to give you all big hugs...
...I wish I could make it all okay for you again.
I know this is so very hard for you. Sonny was a good man.
With deepest sympathy,
