What a wonderful, loving, and very unique person. A very shy person all his life, he made a career in selling cars! Not the "used car salesman" but a guy who really wanted to help others. I tried to get him to write his memoirs. He said "You do it. Ask me any questions and I will give you honest answers." What stories he had to tell, but we suddenly ran out of time. Such is life. He gave us all he could in the time he spent with us. In fact, he continues to take care of us even after death. He fought in the War, married his childhood sweetheart, had six great kids born in Detroit and whisked to California to thrive in the sunshine. Dad loved our various talents and got a big kick out of watching our adventurous discoveries. Dad was very practical and extremely frugal when it came to his lifestyle, but he was so generous when it came to helping us on our journies through life...still is. I still cannot convince myself he is really gone. I hope he is ruling the big pingpong table in the sky. Even if he lost a game, the worst I ever heard was "Awww nuts." He wasn't well known for a sense of humor, but he had one. His hearty laughter was music. God, I miss Dad. I hope he hangs out with us the rest of the way. I hope he saves us a big family-sized spot in Heaven.

Grandpa Bill,
I'm sorry we never got as close as we could have, I really regret it now. I know how incredibly much you meant to my dad, and that lets me know that you were an amazing person. Thank you for raising my dad to be the person he is now, I know it is because of you that he is such an amazing father and person. He tells us stories about you in the past, and it was always evident how much you meant to him and your family, and you mean so much to me as well. Even though we didn't know each other that well, I'll miss you always. I love you very much and I always will.

Hi Grandpa ! It's Heather:), you've always been there, now your somewhere else ;( I'm going to miss all of your great talks, especially about athletics, you're first car, business and the economy, learning new things, medicine and allergies ......I'll miss the complicated ,completed puzzles I would find in the paper at your home, those were amazing!Your extensive vocabulary. There's still so much more we could learn.I love how you appreciate art, and admire effort. You largely appreciated the tiniest acts of kindness. You were always concerned of the health of the family, first, Unfortunately kindness kills, and you must have been becoming too kind @ age 86, Happy Birthday.Congratulations you bared a lot with a smile, and a sense of stubborn pride. Thank You Grandpa for being so strong and so kind.
I will always remember you, most fondly, how you tell the greatest stories with your expressions, made them so alive and my favorite's will always be the memories when you talked proudly of your family, and talked fondly of your memories negative positive of your children, and you're tireless thoughts of improvements and improving for the wellness and strength of each individual, and your' love , so focused you refused to show discomfort .
We love you for all that you are ,and could have been, we all should have been closer to you unknowingly you'd pass through this life so unexpectedly.......You're a superhero to all of us.
I love you Grandpa Deadman.

He was Grandpa Bill to me, and he cared more about his family than anyone else I've known; family was everything to him. I have nothing but good memories of him and am so glad to know he was proud of me and all of his grandchildren. He constantly provided for his large family without a second thought, he was incredibly selfless. I knew that he was always the one I should consult when I needed words of wisdom, an honest opinion or loving reassurance. I love you and I'll miss you, Grandpa Bill.
