G. Richard "Dick" Jenot 1932 - 2017
SPRINGFIELD, IL - G. Richard "Dick" Jenot, 84, of Springfield, died at 5:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at the Mosaic of Springfield.
He was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Springfield, to John and Margaret Clinton Jenot. He married Judith Dober on Jan. 21, 1956, and she survives.
Also surviving are five daughters: Cynthia (James) Carrick of Springfield, Monica Jenot (David Claunch) of Springfield, Brigid (Ted) Trimble of Elgin, Jolene (Greg) Laka of Tinley Park, and Peggy (Thomas) VanAllen of Cary; one son, Clinton (Stacy) Jenot of Summerville, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Smarjesse of Sherman, and Yvonne (Leo) Fanning of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Tom Jenot; and three sisters: Mary Smith, Sr. Margaret Mary (Dorothy Ann) and Kathleen Tranquilli.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He retired from UPS after 20 years of service as a truck mechanic. He also worked over the years at Allis Chalmers, Mountz Trucking, Sangamo Construction, and Leroy Donley Trucking.
Dick attended St. Francis Cabrini Church where he served as an extraordinary minister. He was a member of the VFW and Anchor Boat Club, as well as Teamsters #710.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and bowling.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at St. Francis Cabrini Church with the Rev. Dennis Koopman officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: SIU School of Medicine Center for Alzheimer's disease and Related Disorders; St. Cabrini Church, or charity of the donor's choice.

Judy and Family, I am so sorry for your loss! Dick was a good friend and a great guy! We all remember him as the gentle man he was before the Alzheimer's got him! May he RIP now and visit with all the other UPS retirees that have went to Heaven before him.
