Melvin Kevin Schumacher
SPRINGFIELD - Melvin be-gan his life on Dec. 10, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo., to parents Clara Lorraine Moore and Samuel Freder-ick Schumacher, and de-parted this life on Dec. 23, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
A long-time member of Abundant Faith Christian Center in Springfield, Ill., Melvin was a true "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" man who worked for, or volunteered much of his time to, the City of Springfield, State of Illinois, YMCA and American Legion Post 809. He selflessly gave back to the community in which he chose to live. Melvin also knew the meaning of living life to the fullest as a member of the Rat Pack Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed their road adventures as well as life's joys from travel and people he met along the way.

“All of us are born for a reason, but all of us don't discover why. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others.” ~ Danny Thomas.....Melvin will be missed by many in this community and remember for all he did.
