KLINE, Carolyn Sue - Mechanicsburg  
Carolyn Sue Kline GIRARD, IL - Carolyn Sue Kline, 76, passed away at 11:25 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, Ill., after a long and arduous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Lanesville, Ill., the daughter of Leslie and Pearl Moomey. She married Larry L. Kline Sr. on June 11, 1988, at the Washington Park Botanical Gardens. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She loved arts, crafts, and her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Larry L. Kline Sr. of Springfield; one son, Kevin Wake (wife, Deborah) of Rockford, Ill.; one daughter, Megan Wessing (husband, Mark) of Riverton; two stepsons, Larry L. Kline, Jr. (wife, Melinda) of Petersburg and John Kline of Springfield; two sisters, Mary Jane McDuffee of Pompono Beach, Fla., and Doris Fulkerson of Bardstown, Ky. Carolyn also had nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Martha Lou Brown. She was a longtime resident of the Pleasant Hill Village. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Family and friends will gather in Springfield at the Eagles Club from noon-2 p.m. for lunch after the services. Memorials may be made to: The Alzheimer's Association. KUHN, Pia A. - Springfield  
Pia A. Kuhn SPRINGFIELD, IL - Pia A. Kuhn, 100, of Springfield, died at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at Heritage Manor. Pia was born May 22, 1914, in Springfield, the daughter of Domenico and Concetta Rosati Baliva. She married August A. Kuhn in 1935; he preceded her in death in 1982. Pia worked at Sangamo Electric for 35 years and retired from The Feed Store after 20 years of service in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Mario, Ralph, Frank and Evaldo Baliva; two sisters, Lydia McDonald and Pearl Davis; one son, David S. Kuhn; and her step-mother, Assunta Baliva. She is survived by two sons, Don L. Kuhn of Springfield and August J. Kuhn of the Village of Palm Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Concetta Rath and Corinda (husband, Lucio) Polino, all of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Judith A. "Judie" Kamees-Ghere SPRINGFIELD, IL - Judith A. "Judie" Kamees-Ghere, 68, died peacefully at 5:15 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at her home in Springfield, with her kids present. She was born July 25, 1946, in Springfield, the daughter of Louis John and Barbara deGoveia Kamees. She was preceded in death by her parents. She married Dan Ghere in 1966, and they later divorced. She is survived by her daughter, Gina Lair (Andy Miller) of Virden; son, Bob Ghere of Springfield; granddaughter, Jourdan Lair (Blake Clark); grandson, Justin Lair; great-granddaughter, Hallie Clark; her dog, Patrick; sister, Carol (Walt) Faulkner of Springfield; nephew, Todd Faulkner; and cousins. Judie owned and operated the Wildlife Art and Frame Gallery in Rochester Station for nearly 20 years. She developed many friendships with customers through the gallery that she continued to enjoy until her death. She thoroughly enjoyed her two black labs, Doolittle and Abbey, who were with her every day in the gallery. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed her time with the family. She will be missed deeply by all but most of all the love of her life, Patrick, who was always by her side. Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Staab Funeral Home. KUNZ, Gladys Marie - Springfield  
Gladys Marie Kunz SPRINGFIELD, IL - Gladys Marie Kunz, 95, of Springfield, died at 2:28 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at St. John's Hospital. Gladys was born June 5, 1919, in Nokomis, Ill., the daughter of Eugene and Olivia Whitmore Pieper. She married Fred W. "June" Kunz, Jr. on Dec. 30, 1939, at St. Louis Church in Nokomis; he preceded her in death in 1993. Gladys was a graduate of Nokomis St. Louis Church High School. She worked for Sangamo Electric and was a florist for 45 years. She was a past president of AMVETS Post 61 and 257, as well as Women's Auxiliary. She had been a member of several bowling leagues and enjoyed dancing with her husband, fishing, flowers, and loved birds and nature. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Billy Duhadway. She is survived by two sons, Mike Kunz (companion, Judy Hessler) of Springfield and Mark Kunz of New Berlin; two daughters, Marlin (husband, Charles) Vitale of Littleton, Colo., and Carol (husband, Robert) Robbins of Collinsville; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Sue Ellen Kunz of Springfield. Martha E. Kelly SPRINGFIELD, IL - Martha E. Kelly, 86, of Springfield, died at 4:35 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Martha was born Nov. 9, 1928, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Lee and Gladys Beehler Shirk. She married the love of her life and best friend, John A. Kelly, on June 18, 1951, in Valparaiso, Ind. Martha was a member of First Church of the Brethren, the Embroidery Guild, Ceramics Club and volunteered for Mission Outreach, Meals on Wheels and Compass Youth Program. As a cancer survivor she participated in the annual Relay For Life. She was preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother. She is survived by her husband, John A. Kelly of Springfield; three children: Beth Kelly (fiancé, David Auger) of Strafford, N.H., Robert (wife, Michele) Kelly of Atlanta, Ga., and Carol (husband, John) Schmidt of Sherman; seven grandchildren: Allison and Katie Schmidt, John Kelly, Heather (husband, Dave) Repp, Gavin, William and Hannah McKerrow; one nephew; the Walshes, the Beehlers and several other family members. Lillian Miller King AUBURN, IL - Lillian Miller King, 102, of Auburn passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Auburn Nursing and Rehab. She was born June 27, 1912, in Virden, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle Rucker Paisley. Lillian married Les Miller and he passed away in 1966. She then married Halford King in 1970 and he passed away in 1973. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Vivian Wigham, Ester Groh and Betty Paisley; three brothers: Thomas, James and Kenneth; and a great-grandson, Jared Ellis. Surviving are her son, Don (Dee) Miller; four grandchildren: Denise Miller, Dyann Miller, Doug Miller and Donna Ellis; eight great-grandchildren: Amy (Jeremiah) Lovelace, Lisa Fues, Justin Ellis, Jenna (Jason) Cluts, Jessica (Mark) Bower, Jodi (Tommy) Lane, Keith Sergent and Tessa Sergent; 14 great-great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Dean, Caitlyn, Faybryanna, Lyllian, Reyna, Landry, Brooklyn, Bryce, Avery, Tessa, Tommy, Jr., Jade and Jasmine; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn with the Rev. Brian Caughlan officiating. Burial will be at Auburn Cemetery.
