Eunice I. Ashenfelter SPRINGFIELD, IL - Eunice I. Ashenfelter, 89, of Springfield, died at 6:23 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 23, 1926, in St. Mary's, W.V. She married Leo V. Ashenfelter on Aug. 31, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2006. Survivors include two daughters, Karon (Ed) Kane of Herculaneum, Mo., and Jody Kuder of Odin; three sons: Michael (Kathy) Ashenfelter and Mark (Tina) Ashenfelter, both of Springfield, and John (Liane) Ashenfelter of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Sharon Jenkins; and one son-in-law, Richard Kuder. Eunice was a member of First Church of God. She retired from J.C.Penney as Assistant Manager of the Housewares Department. Private family services will be held. BAER, Linda Sue - Beardstown  
Linda Sue Baer BEARDSTOWN, IL - Linda Sue Baer, 85, of Beardstown, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling, Ill. She was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Beardstown, the daughter of Robert Bolling and Helen Sherman Adams. She married Bill Baer on Sept. 25, 1949, at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2008. She is survived by her children, Jeff (wife, Cheryl) Baer of Beardstown, and Toni (husband, John) Musgrove of Girard; and four grandchildren: Will (wife, Abby) and Jessie Musgrove, and Chris and Phillip Baer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters: Roberta Ferris, Zola Mae Shane, and Alberta Lee Gramann; and one brother, Robert Bolling Adams, Jr. Sue graduated from Beardstown High School in the Class of 1948. Sue was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown, where she and her husband taught 2 and 3-year-old Sunday school for many years. She was also dedicated and devoted to Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis, and the Prison Ministry. Sue led many members of the Beardstown area through Explorers Bible Study and Marriage Encounter. Sue encouraged all who crossed her path by helping them with their greatest needs. She thoroughly loved her family and friends, and will be genuinely missed, especially by those who knew her as "Gam". Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. Burial will be at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials have been suggested to: First United Methodist Church Samaritan Fund. CROW, Gilbert Dale - Springfield  
Gilbert Dale Crow 4/15/1925 - 7/3/2015 JEFFERSON CITY, TN - Gilbert Dale Crow, 90, of Jefferson City, Tenn., passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Centers surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 15, 1925, the son of Lilly Dovie Belcher Crow and Gilbert Crow, in Lawrenceville, Ill. Mr. Crow was a WWII veteran having enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942; he served as a sonar repairman in the Pacific. He married Margaret Dolores Brown on Aug. 15, 1950, and she survives. He is also survived by a sister, Rosie Christine Crow Zimmerman of Houston, Texas; son, Steven D. Crow (Maryanna) of Petersburg, Ill.; daughter, Margaret Ann "Maggie" Clerk (Kevin) of Dandridge, Tenn.; grandchildren: Stefanie Crow Branson of Petersburg, Ill., Shawn Crow of Kent, Wash., Erika Clerk of Charleston, S.C., and Whitney Clerk of Bloomington, Ind.; great-grandchildren: Gabrielle Branson, Cydnee Crow, Isabelle Branson, Logan Crow and Madilynn Crow; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lloyd Crow, Charles Vernon Crow, Rolla Charles "Bud" Crow, Eleanor Ruth Crow Johnson, John Eldon Crow, and Betty Louise Crow Hartley; and granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Crow. Mr. Crow worked in the oil field for many years in the Robinson, Ill., area and also owned and operated the Marathon Service Station in Centralia, Ill., for several years. He had a strong work ethic which he practiced and passed along to his children and grandchildren. After retirement they moved to Haines City, Fla., where they resided for several years and moved to the Jefferson City, Tenn., area two years ago to be near their daughter. Mr. Crow was formerly active with the Shrine, Masonic Lodge, Elks and VFW. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan. He was a Protestant and of the Baptist faith. Per his request, Mr. Crow was cremated. A family service will be held at a later date at Newlin Cemetery in Robinson, Ill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: The American Cancer Society, Shriners Hospitals for Children or a charity of the donor's choice. Doris Mendenhall Sackett Dalbey MT. DORA, FL - Doris Mendenhall Sackett Dalbey, 94, of Mt. Dora, FL, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Doris was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Spencer, NC. She graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. Doris married Robert Sackett of Springfield, IL, on June 20, 1947. Doris was a member of Douglas Avenue Methodist Church and taught at Grant Jr. High for 20 years. Mr. Sackett preceded Doris in death in 1968. She married Orvis N. Dalbey of Springfield in 1976. They moved to Mt. Dora, FL, in 1978. Doris was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mt. Dora, and was active in the women's and gardening clubs. Mr. Dalbey preceded Doris in death in 1998. Surviving are daughters, Carolyn (Curt) Neitzke of Chatham, IL, and Cindy (Mark) Humphreville of Wilmington, NC; and grandson, Alex Humphreville, of Brooklyn, NY. Also survivine are stepdaughters, Joan Stickley of Ocean City, MD, and Mary Lou (Dave) Brent of Springfield, IL; stepson, Noel (Mary Pat) Dalbey of Springfield, IL; and their families. A Florida funeral service will be followed by a local visitation from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., also on Thursday, at Zion Cemetery in Cotton Hill Township, Pawnee, IL.

Teclet C. "Katsie" Davis SPRINGFIELD, IL - Teclet C. "Katsie" Davis, 92, of Springfield, died at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Capitol Healthcare and Rehab Center. Teclet was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Girardville, Pa., the daughter of Alex and Mary Yanorofsky Witcuskie. She married George C. Davis on Nov. 11, 1954, in Springfield; he preceded her in death on May 14, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters: Mary Winters, Stella Stuper, Helen Pickerites, and Anne Scrivner. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Yost of Springfield; three grandchildren: Royal Yost of Gilbert, Ariz., Sandra Yost, and Joelle (husband, Bryan) Knoles, both of Springfield; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Catherine "Annette" Fuchs SPRINGFIELD, IL - Catherine "Annette" Fuchs, 78, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Carlinville Rehab and Health Care Center. Annette was born April 7, 1937, in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Moore Campo. Annette retired from the City of Springfield in 1997. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank P. Campo; and grandson, Timothy Knepler. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Fuchs; daughter, Rhonda Catlin; four grandchildren: David (Brittney) Catlin, Elizabeth Catlin, Lindsay (Wilson) Chaparro, and Jody Fuchs; six great-grandchildren: Devin, Natalie and Sofie Fuchs, Cora Lynn, Ethan and Raylyn Fuchs; one sister, Pat Price; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
