BEARD, Gerald M. - Springfield  
Gerald M. Beard SPRINGFIELD - Gerald M. Beard departed this life on January 20, 2015, at his home. Gerald was born May 29, 1942. He is the son of Marian and Harold E. Beard, Sr. He married Ruzelle Brooks on July 13, 2014. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Union Baptist Church. Mr. Beard retired from the IL Dept. of Revenue where he was employed as an auditor. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Curtis A. Beard. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Ruzelle Beard; daughter, Darla (Byron) Willis; stepdaughters, Renee (Robert) Boyd of California and Katrina (Larry) Ford of Indiana; brothers, Harold E. Beard, Jr., Robert L. (Katherine) Beard, Sr., and Donald E. Beard, Sr.; two grandchildren; three stepgrandsons; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Union Baptist Church, 1405 East Monroe St., Springfield, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Interment at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 11 a.m., Thursday January 29, 2015. Services entrusted to Ruby Funeral Services & Chapel, 1520 W. Washington St., Springfield, IL 62706.

BOLASH, Louis F. - Divernon  
Louis F. Bolash DIVERNON, IL - Louis F. Bolash, 90, of Divernon passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Heritage Health Care in Springfield, Ill. He was born June 26, 1924, in Divernon, the son of Frank and Emerence Kovoch Bolash. Louis married Marie "Mickie" Tumulty at St. Joseph's Church in Springfield on June 1, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ellen Rolves and Isabelle Bolash; and one brother, Frank. Louis graduated from Divernon High School in 1942. He was a lifelong resident of Divernon. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Machinist Mate on the maiden voyage of the U.S.S. Iowa. He was an employee of Sears and Roebuck Co. for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Divernon American Legion Post 286 for 70 years and a past member of Divernon Fire Department. Louis went on the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight in October of 2011 to Washington, D.C. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Marie "Mickie"; five children: Mary Lou Derhake and Michael (Linda) Bolash, both of Divernon, Theresa (David) Brock of Pontiac, Margaret (William) Clark of Decatur, and Catherine (Ronald) Dockery of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Cremation rites were accorded. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of memorial services at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at New Life Church in Auburn with the Rev. Anthony Sale officiating. Burial will be at Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon. Memorials may be made to: New Life Family Church Building Fund, Divernon Fire Department or the charity of your choice. BUSSING, Mary Ann - Evansville  
Mary Ann Bussing EVANSVILLE, IN - Mary Ann Bussing went to heaven carried by angels to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday Jan. 21, 2015. She was the third child born of Leo A. and Florence E. (Mooney) Diehl on March 3, 1929 in Evansville, Ind. Mary Ann was raised in St. Meinrad and Evansville, Ind. She graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in 1947. She had numerous occupations, Chrysler in Evansville, Flora Jewelers and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Decatur, Ill. She returned to Evansville in 1974 and volunteered at St. Mary's Medical Center for many years. Mary Ann is one of the longest living survivors of liver transplantation having had her transplant in 1993 at Rush Hospital in Chicago. She was known for her practical jokes, enjoying life and loved to cook and sew. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; older brother, Kenneth Thomas Diehl; and grandson, Kevin Thomas Reynolds. She was blessed with five children: Robert C. Bussing (Nancy), Barbara A. Brinhoctter (Ted), Thomas E. Bussing (Karen), Suzanne M. Knox (Robert) and John M. Bussing (Jacqui); grandchildren: Brian and Anna Bussing, Katie Rutledge, Eric Reynolds, Hilary Deeke, Ana Nicole Bussing and Robert Bussing; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Holliman, Rita Horty, both of Evansville and Kathleen Russell (Jerry) of Lake Ozark, Mo.; and many special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Friday Jan. 23, 2015, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., Saturday Jan. 24, 2015, at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to VNA Deaconess Hospice staff for their care, kindness and compassion. BANGERT, Donald R. - Springfield  
Donald R. Bangert SPRINGFIELD, IL - Donald R. Bangert, 83, of Springfield, passed away at 3:32 a.m., Saturday Jan. 17, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1931, the son of Marvin Bangert and Katherine (Knox) Bangert. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marva Kay Tate. Don married Joan Clair Huff on Nov. 25, 1954. Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, with whom he raised eight children: Peter Douglas (Stacy) Bangert of Springfield, Ill., Stacey Weities of Fayetteville, Ark., Regina (Michael) Kaiser of Springfield, Ill., Elizabeth (Jeff) Friedman of Springfield, Ill., Bradley (Karen) Bangert of Dunlap, Ill., Craig (Shari) Bangert of Sherman, Ill., Scott (Shawn) Bangert of Springfield, Ill., and Brian Bangert of Springfield, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Don is also survived by his brother, Rex (Mary Jo) Bangert of Springfield Ill., and sister, Judy Young of Phoenix, Ariz. Don was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ill., having attended St. Agnes Grade School and Cathedral High School. He was a member of Christ the King Church. Don was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War, and later served his country in the Illinois Army National Guard, retiring Command Sergeant Major with 24 years of service. He was former Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 755. Don was a retired administrator from Lexis Document Services, formerly Illinois Code Company. Don's background and working life through many years was rich and diverse in variety and accomplishment. Don was a private pilot, former board member and Chairman of the Springfield Airport Authority, and served many years as General Manger of the Jacksonville Airport. Don also worked as Director of Administrative Services for City, Water, Light and Power, and fondly recalled his years with the City. Don passed the way he lived, with strength and dignity, and will be deeply missed by his large family, who were blessed by his character, work ethic and his great pride in their accomplishments. He will also be missed by the many others whose lives he touched along the way. Following private services, burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at noon on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015. A Celebration of Life Open House will follow from 2-7 p.m. at Brookhills Golf Club, 5350 Old Jacksonville Rd., Springfield, IL 62711. BIDDLE Jr., Robert L. - Springfield  
Robert L. Biddle, Jr. SPRINGFIELD, IL - Robert L. Biddle, Jr., 80, died at 2:35 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at his home in Springfield, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Pittsfield, Ill., to Robert L. and Eva Mae Sparkman Biddle, Sr. He married Donna J. Lunt on Sept. 25, 1955, and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Pamela Sue Murphy of Springfield; two sons, Donald Bradley (Monique) Biddle of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Robert L. (Sue) Biddle, III of Springfield; four grandchildren, Mitch and Cameron Murphy and Wesley and Morgan Biddle; and one great-grandson, Ryan Liam Biddle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Robert L. Biddle, IV. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church, Central Illinois Corvette Club, and Data Processing Management Associate. He was a graduate of Higbee High School in Pittsfield and Illinois College. He retired in 1995 from CIPS where he worked as Production Control Supervisor of the Information Services Dept. Robert loved his family above all, enjoyed working puzzles, and traveling around in his corvette. He had a fantastic smile and never met a stranger. Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Nicole Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
