WITHERS Jr., George R. - Springfield  
TALLULA, IL - George R. Withers, Jr., 80, of Tallula, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He is survived by five sons: Richard Gene (wife, Leslie) Withers of Petersburg, Bobby Gene Withers of Athens, Donald Lee Withers of Springfield, Ronald Dean Withers of Florida, and Robert Lee (wife, Jen) of Pleasant Plains; one daughter, Jolene Marie Rawlings of Texas; grandchildren: Tucker Withers, Grant Withers, Wyatt Withers, Maci Withers and Colins Withers; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barb Doughtery and Janice Doughtery; and one brother, Cliff Withers. Mr. Withers was born March 12, 1935, near Jamestown, Ky., the son of George Roosevelt and L. Hazel (Wells) Withers. He attended Springfield High School and worked as a union cement finisher for 50 years. George was owner, and operated, Illini Fur Buyers for 50 years. He enjoyed playing in his band called "George Withers and the Illini Boys". Mr. Withers was a member of Athens Christian Church and Cement Masons Local #18. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Athens Christian Church. The Rev. Ken Gennicks will be officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Memorials can be made to: The George Wither's Memorial Fund. Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens is assisting the Withers family.

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Georgiann Walden, 76, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at St. Joseph's Home. She was born in Oak Park, Ill., on Sept. 20, 1939, to Elliott and Grace (Glende) Johnson. She married Robert Walden on March 9, 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Thomas Macchio; and her parents. Georgiann was an avid golfer and gardener. She is survived by her children: Susan Hughes, Daniel (Barbara) Walden, Greg (Patricia) Walden and Mike (Ginny) Walden; grandchildren: Katie, Travis, Dyan, Brittany, Ashley, Shawna, Melissa, and Alysia; great-grandchildren: RJ, Bailey and Easton; brother, Ronald (Norvette) Johnson; an aunt; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Service: 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Fox officiating. WELCH, Robert Allen - Springfield  
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Robert Allen Welch, 92 of Springfield, died at 7:41 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center. Robert, the son of Lloyd and Olga Manetz Welch, was born June 1, 1923, in Farmersville, Ill. He married Juanita Marcella Shofner on Feb. 23, 1947, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Gary) Clark of New Berlin; four sons: Stanley (Kathleen) Welch of Springfield, Randall L. (Dr. Sandi) Welch of Richmond, Va., Terrance S. (Mary Claire) Welch of Dallas, Texas, and Timothy B. (Janet) Welch of Ivory Coast, Africa; eight grandchildren: Christopher J. (Jamie) Welch of Springfield, Matthew A. (Kelly) Welch of St. Louis, Mo., Whitney (Jonathan) Reed of Carrollton, Texas, Sarah (Taylor) Humphrey of Frisco, Texas, Amelia (Luke) Roth of Wichita, Kan., Benjamin Wright of New York, N.Y., Philip (Kazy) Welch of Denver, Colo., and Katie (Kurt) Poland of Los Angeles, Calif.; eleven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Welch of Eugene , Ore., and Melvin Welch of Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother-in-law, Robert Yard of Farmersville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three sisters: Pauline Tresso, Elberta Wolters and Josephine Yard. Robert was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving during WWII. He was involved in a number of campaigns in the South Pacific. He was a member of Springfield Bible Church. Robert was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini fan. He enjoyed a good cigar while watching a game. He played baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees organization after returning home from the South Pacific. He was a route driver for 7-UP, Coke and Pepsi and also worked for Castor's Food Store and Kent's IGA for over 30 years where he forged a lifelong friendship with Robert Kent. Visitation: 9:30 – 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Springfield Bible Church. Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Springfield Bible Church with John Standard officiating. WHITE, Mary H. (Wingler) - Jacksonville  
JACKSONVILLE, IL - Mary H. (Wingler) White, 74, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at her home. She was born, Feb. 12, 1941, in Jacksonville, the daughter of John Martin and Lola Esther Tuttle Wingler. She married Kenneth E. "Gene" White on March 6, 1959, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2003. Mary is survived by four children: Terry (Janice) White of Auburn, Melinda (Bill) Brooks of Springfield, Norma (Mark) Behymer of Scottville, and Brad (Beth) White of Jacksonville. She retired from the Secretary of State in 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at East Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to: The American Diabetes Association or Auburn Emergency Squad. WILLIAMS, Jane P. - Springfield  
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Jane P. Williams, 77, of Springfield, died at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center. Jane was born Aug. 24, 1938, in Lake City, Minn., the daughter of Joseph Arthur and Marjorie Irvine Petitclair. Jane received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from MacMurray College and her Master's in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield. She retired from the State of Illinois in 2004 after 23 years at DCFS and the Department of Revenue. She also taught 3rd and 4th grade in Rockford. Jane was a member of the Illinois and Iowa Quarterhorse Association, serving as Amateur Chair for Illinois. She was also a lifeguard at Springfield Bridge House and had a great love for horses. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ann Carrier and Marjorie Wild; and one brother, George Petitclair. She is survived by one son, Kent (wife, Paula) Johnson of Nashua, N.H.; two daughters, Sara (husband, Howard) Neuger of Chatham, and Karin (husband, Mark) Grisdale of Richmond, Texas; six grandchildren: Jenna and Jacob Johnson, Michael and Julianna Neuger, Lee Grisdale (fiancée, Melissa Hamilton) and Meredith Grisdale (fiancé, Blake Kidd); and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Brayden Dupuis. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Ceremony: 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
