RAYMOND, IL - Bob E. Lamma, 86, a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Ill., and formerly of Auburn and Mt. Sterling, Ill., passed away at 2:23 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Augusta, Ill., the son of Pansie Lamma. He married Sharon Marshall on Sept. 5, 1975, in Auburn, Ill., and she survives. Bob was an avid horseman who trained paint and quarter horses for several years. Mr. Lamma was a veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lamma of Raymond, Ill.; two children, Rob Lamma of Nashville, Mich., and Denise Pope of Morrisonville, Ill.; and two stepchildren, Debora Oberling of Elmhurst, Ill., and Douglas Oberling of Hamilton, Mich. One brother, four sisters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. Military services will be held at the funeral home at the conclusion of the funeral.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Per his request cremation will be accorded following the services and burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date in the Quincy Memorial Park.
Memorials are suggested to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund or Chair Fund.
