Bonnie M. Skaggs

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Bonnie M. Skaggs, 85, died at 4:39 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at The Bridge Care Suites. She was born August 6, 1928, in Litchfield to Charles and Gladys Wagner Miller. She married Joseph Skaggs on January 25, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Ryken Matthew Bailey; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Will and Marilyn Jackson, Tom and Velma Lawless, Wayne and Louise Hedgecock, and Nadine Standefer.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat (Ted) Bailey, of Auburn, and Vicky (Don) Brown, of Riverton; one son, Jack (Ronda) Skaggs of Springfield; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Ted Standefer, of Petersburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bonnie worked for the State of Illinois Department of Drug and Alcohol Abuse. She was a member of Awana Club, Cubbies and WOM (Women on Missions). She enjoyed working puzzles, walking, gardening and loved her grandkids and great- grandkids.

Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
