Claude W. Rogers
SPRINGFIELD – Claude W. Rogers, 88, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 23, 1924, in Petersburg to Claude Lacey and Christine (Stufflebeam) Rogers, both of whom preceded him in death. A brother, Jack, also preceded him in death.
Claude was a veteran of World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. He retired from Fiat-Allis in 1984. Claude loved camping and the outdoors and was a winter Texan for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Georgie Mae "Toots" Rogers; his children, Barb (Rod) Shearburn, Chuck (Carrie) Rogers, Ray (Teresa) Rogers, Billy Rogers (companion, Kevin), Jimmy Rogers (companion, Gary) and Toni (Roger) Dobson; 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
