Dorothy Mae King Robison

SPRINGFIELD - Dorothy Mae King Robison, 84, of Springfield, formerly of Virden, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at her home.

She was born October 1, 1928, in Owatonna, MN, to Alvin and Helen Erno Mensing. They preceded her in death as did her first husband, Willis King, and her second husband, Ralph L. Robison; brother, Donald Mensing; sister, Jean Zak, and grandson, Christopher Miller.

Dorothy worked several years for the Virden Police Department as a dispatcher, for the Virden Dress Factory, and most recently, as a home healthcare provider. She was a member of the Girard Lutheran Church and attended Faith Life Fellowship Church in Springfield. Dorothy was a very active volunteer for the VFW Auxiliary, life member of the DAV, Moose Lodge (Litchfield), Lifetime Member of the Eagles Club #437 and POLK of A (Riverton), where she was named the Queen and her husband, Ralph, the King.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Linda (Mike) McFarland and Helen "Kay" Miller, both of Virden; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Mensing, Ronald (Norma) Mensing, Larry (Kathy) Mensing; sisters, Joan (Irvin) Mirik, Ramona (Pete) Jetike, all of MN, and Pauline Loveless of Pontiac, IL; sister-in-law, Elaine Lukesch of Chatham; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Her family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 26, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham.

Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 27, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, with Pastor Dennis Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
