SPRINGFIELD - Douglas Perry, 68, of Springfield, died at 12:55 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013, at St. John's Hospital.
Douglas was born May 5, 1945, in Springfield, the son of Earl and Etta Baker Perry. He married Linda Kay Clendenin on July 27, 1968.
Douglas attended Lanphier High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. He had been employed by Rail Splitter Lincoln/Mercury for 20 years and later retired from Kim's Auto Body in Springfield in 2007. Douglas was a lifetime member of the DAV, American Legion Post #809, and enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and thirteen sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Perry, of Springfield; one daughter, Cristina McDonald; one sister, Beverly Beck of Troy; two "sons", Tom and Jerry; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
Memorial Ceremony: 11 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
