Earl M. Douglas
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Earl M. Douglas, 80, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born in Riverton, Oct. 18, 1933, the son of Richard and Melina Thomas Douglas. His wife, Roxie, preceded him in death in 2002.
Mr. Douglas retired as an ironworker through the Ironworkers Local #46. He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish.
Earl loved to fish, hunt and was an excellent cook. He enjoyed western movies.
Surviving are his children, Dee-Dee Nunn, Cherie (Pat) O'Neill, Shirley (Marty Miller) Lowman, Jo Ellen Davis, Les (Lynne) Douglas and Bernie Douglas, all of Springfield. He has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Fred Douglas of California and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by The Inter-Veterans Burial Detail and the Department of Defense.
