Gleason "Junior" Rodgers, Jr.

SPRINGFIELD - Gleason "Junior" Rodgers, Jr., 58, of Springfield died on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at St. John's Hospital with his family at his bedside.

Gleason was born on March 2, 1954 in Campbellsville, KY the son of Gleason, Sr. and Helen Mardis Rodgers.

He had worked for Murphy Farms and Curry Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his father and son, Matthew Rodgers.

He is survived by two sons, Brian (Rachel) Rodgers of Springfield and Timothy (Shannon) Rodgers of Pleasant Plains; three daughters, Rebecca (Jeff) Palmer of Loami, Melinda (companion, Scott Paris) Rodgers and Mandy (companion Kevin Matthews) Rodgers both of Springfield; mother, Helen Rodgers of Campbellsville, KY; four brothers, Bobby Joe Rodgers of Springfield, James David Rodgers, Jeffrey Rodgers and Danny Gilbert all of Campbellsville, KY; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; cousin, Judy Donley Henderson of Sherman, IL and several other cousins and relatives in Campbellsville, KY.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. at Kumler United Methodist Church, 600 N. 5th St., Springfield, IL with Reverend Robert Freeman officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Brockman Cemetery in Campbellsville, KY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kumler United Methodist Church.
