Glenn Thomas Knous

PETERSBURG, IL - Glenn Thomas Knous, 80, of Petersburg died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born Dec. 2, 1933, in Petersburg to Joel and Margaret (Ridder) Knous. He married Beverly Thomson in 1959. She survives.

Glenn is survived by a son, Jeffrey Knous, daughter, Elaine (David) Knauer, and one granddaughter, Stephanie Knauer, all of Springfield; a sister, Dorothy Clark of Ocoee, Fla.; one brother, Albert (June Sherry) Knous of Petersburg; a sister-in-law, Carole Knous; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Francis "Bud" and Carl Knous, and two sisters, Ethel Hedger and Martha Borah.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1988 after 36 years from Ideal Industries, Inc. at the age of 54, where he held various management positions at the Petersburg Plant. He was a lifetime member of St. Peters Church in Petersburg.

Services for Glenn will be held at St Peters Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded.
