TALLULA - Janice Lee Woolsey, 78, of Tallula, passed away on February 21, 2013, at St. Johns Hospital. She was born October 1, 1934, in Tallula, IL, the daughter of Francis and Elizabeth Clark Hill. She married Eugene "Blackie" Woolsey on October 4, 1953, in Tallula, IL.
Janice is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Craig) Linne of Springfield and Kelli (Dave) Finley of Rochester; four grandchildren, Bill Dougherty of Springfield, Jake Bennett of Springfield, Krissy Finley of Rochester and Kelsey Finley of Rochester; three great-grandchil-dren; and a sister, Brenda (Doug) Schnapp of Tallula.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Hill; mother, Elizabeth Schoneweis; stepfather, Harvey Schoneweis; husband, Eugene "Blackie" Woolsey; daughter, Kriscenda Woolsey; and brother, Francis "Sonny" Hill.
Janice had an Associates in Applied Science from LLCC and was a computer programmer for the State of Illinois, retiring from the Department of Human Services after 38 years of employment. She was also a member of the Tallula Christian Church.
Funeral Services for Janice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Tallula Christian Church, with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery in Tallula. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Tallula Christian Church or Tallula Senior Center.
