Jonas "Homer" Ribble

HETTICK - Jonas "Homer" Ribble, 70, of Hettick, Ill., died Saturday morning, March 16, 2013, at Vermillion Man-or Nursing Home in Tilton, Ill.

He was born December 19, 1942, in Carlinville, Ill., son of the late Jonas and Thelma Angelo Ribble.

Surviving is one brother, Terry Ribble and wife, Bonnie, of Springfield, Ill.; two nieces: Cindy Stouffe and husband, Gary, of Palmyra, Ill., and Becky Green and husband, Earl, of Beth-alto, Ill.; four nephews: Audie Ribble and wife, Peggy Jo, and Chris Ribble and wife, Peggy Sue, all of Hettick, Ill., Martin Ribble and wife, Dawn, of Chatham, Ill., and Brent Ribble and wife, Amy, of Chesterfield, Mo.; sixteen great-nieces and great-neph-ews; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a sister-in-law, Melba Ribble of Hettick, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George "Bing" Ribble.

Homer was a member of the former Barr Baptist Church and a current member of Palmyra Christian Church for many years. He was a US Army veteran serving during Vietnam. Homer farmed west of Hettick, Ill., on the family farm.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Wednes-day, March 20, 2013, at the Stults-Neece Chapel in Palmyra, Ill. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery in Hettick, Ill. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the chapel.
