SPRINGFIELD - Koleen Pressler, 62, of Springfield , IL, passed away in her home on Monday, April 15, 2013. She was born July 19, 1950 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Maxine (Ott) and the late Orlyn Pressler.
Koleen earned a bachelor's degree in political science and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado. She worked as a flight attendant for a few years and later in retail sales. Her passion for cooking led her to Napa, California, where she owned and operated Maxi's Café, named for her mother. Koleen also wrote a cookbook that included anecdotes of her family history.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ted. She is survived by her mother, Maxine Pressler; aunt, Pauline Bricker; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home in Canton, Ohio with Pastor Atlee Hershberger officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 1-2 p.m. before the service.
