Margaret L. Schlueter

BEARDSTOWN - Margaret L. Schlueter, 90, of Beardstown died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born September 28, 1922, in Pleasant View, the daughter of Clarence L. and Alpha Allen Farrar. She married Fred W. Schlueter on February 9, 1941, at St. John's Lutheran in Beardstown and he preceded her in death in November 1997.

Surviving are three children, Mary (husband, Jay) Huddleston of Springfield, and Bill (wife, Janice) Schlueter and Robert Schlueter both of Beardstown; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchil-dren; one brother, Earl E. (wife, Betty) Farrar of Springfield; two sisters, Dorothy Hoover and Jeanette (husband, Keith) Snyder both of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Floyd Farrar; and one sister, Marjorie Ballou.

Margaret was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. John's LWML, and Beardstown Lions Club. She was formerly employed with the Beardstown School District for over 20 years, retiring in 1984.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Beardstown. There will be an informal visitation from 1 until 3 p.m., Sunday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church.

Memorials have been suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
