Mary Jo Fehring
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Mary Jo Fehring, 79, died at 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at St. John's Hospital.
Mary Jo was born June 10, 1934, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Herbert F. and Clara E. Koehler Cottrill. She married John Fehring in 1979 in Springfield.
Mary Jo served on Kumler Neighbors Ministries Board and volunteered with the church's Pharmaceutical Program. She retired as Coordinator of Illinois Home Energy Assistance Program for Sangamon County, and also retired from the Illinois Dept. of Revenue as an Administrative Clerk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kerry Joe Winters; one brother, Harold Purvis; and sister, Doris Hanauer.
She is survived by her husband, John Fehring of Springfield; four sons: Robert S. (girlfriend, Vicky Bertok) Boastick, Danny L. (wife, Janet) Boastick, and Scott F. (Melissa) Boastick, all of Springfield, and Tommy L. (Kathy Grider) Boastick of Pawnee; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Family requests casual dress.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
