Paul J. Bordignon

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Paul J. Bordignon, 77, died at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at St. John's Hospital.

Paul was born June 27, 1936, in Springfield, the son of Paulo and Margherita Licini Bordignon. He married Mary Jane Kuchar on May 4, 1957, in Springfield.

Paul was a graduate of Lanphier High School, where he was a marksman on the rifle team in high school. He also belonged to the Lefthanders Gun Club. Paul worked for Allis Chalmers and Fiat-Allis and had built three homes for his family. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and traveling for work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Bordignon; and two sisters, Bruna Zadel and Josephine Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Bordignon, of Springfield; five children, Greg (wife, Bernie) Bordignon, of Robins, IA, Scott (wife, Carol) Bordignon, of Lonsdale, Minn., Lynn (husband, David Hinds) Snyder-Hinds, of Springfield, Todd (wife, Kristin) Bordignon, of Springfield, and Mark (wife, Cathy) Bordignon, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Natalie and Stephanie Bordignon, Alexa Snyder, Lynette, Jazz, Logan, Jake, and Emma Bordignon; five step grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea and Taylor Westbrook, and Nick and Hannah Hinds; one step brother, Art Frescura of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Gary Winkleman officiating.
