PETERSBURG - Ray Kanouff, 75, of Petersburg, Ill., passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 10:30 p.m. at St. John's Hospital.
He was born on July 7, 1937, in Bedford County, Penn., the son of Ray and Anna (Yednak) Kanouff. Ray married Edith McCulloch on Dec. 31, 1968, in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; his children, Tanya (Mike) Bonakoske of Englewood, Fla., Dennis (Lori) Dixon of Athens, Ill., Robin (Gene) Goff of Englewood, Fla., Devin (Angela) Dixon of Athens, Ill., Richard Ray Kanouff II of Petersburg, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grand-children. Siblings, Charles Kanouff, Eva Galie, Gerald Kanouff, Allen Kanouff and Mark Kanouff. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Kanouff, and sister, Lucille Kanouff.
Ray was a member of the First Christian Church in Petersburg. He also loved hunting and being outdoors.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Ferricks officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
