Raymond Hal Pressler
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Raymond Hal Pressler, 71, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at St. John's Hospice.
Raymond was born March 4, 1942, in Springfield the son of Irvin and Gloria Cook Pressler. He married Nancy Poppenhager on July 30, 1965, in Springfield.
Mr. Pressler was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Vietnam. He worked for CWLP as a boiler/fuels maintenance man; he retired after 27 years. He loved playing golf with friends and family. He liked watching the Cubs, Bears, Fighting Illini and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed fishing, coaching sports, spending time with his grandchildren and going to Arizona for the winter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Kelly Pressler of St. Louis and Troy (Nancy) Pressler of Chatham; five sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren, Chase and Breann Pressler.
Graveside services will be Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery with the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County conducting honors.
There will be a Celebration of Life following graveside services from noon-2 p.m. at Knights of Columbus in Devereaux Heights.
Family and friends are welcome at the graveside service and celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Wounded Warrior Project.
