Rosalie Jean Conklin
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Rosalie Jean Conklin, 82, formerly of Easton, Ill., passed away at St. John's Hospital in Springfield at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
She was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Biggs, Ill., to Eugene Charles and Alvena (Koke) Ringhouse. She married Raymond C. Conklin on June 17, 1976. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1991.
Mrs. Conklin is survived by two daughters, Tina (John) Kern of Springfield and Sandra Pottorf of Washburn; two stepsons, John (Rose) Conklin of Athens and David (Kelly) Conklin of Salem; two stepdaughters, Linda (Jeff) Storm of Cantrall and Melanie (Jim) Blane of Mason City; two grandchildren, Catherine Kern of Washington, Ill., and Rebecca Kern of Springfield, eight step-grandchildren: Erica, Brett, Lindsay, Ryan, Jessica, Dan, Nick and Reagen; and five great-grandchildren: Caroline, John, Cashton, Jackson and Hudson. Also surviving are two sisters, Bernice Hall of Havana and Mary Ann See of Chillicothe, and two brothers, Robert (Carolyn) Ringhouse and Kenneth (Sandra) Ringhouse, both of Easton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Lila Dark.
Mrs. Conklin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Springfield where she was a member of the Immanuel Crafters. She was active in the Land of Lincoln Quilters Association and the American Sewing Guild. She made chemo hats and blankets for the Linus Project. She had worked for the Illinois Dept. of Revenue in Springfield for many years.
Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Easton Cemetery. The Rev. Darrell Debowey will officiate.
